Big Night For South Point at Fasig-Tipton November

FTHeadLogoA pair of big-selling Racing/Broodmare prospects and a six-figure yearling highlighted a fantastic night for South Point Sales clients at the annual Fasig-Tipton November sale.

B. Wayne Hughes’ Spendthrift Farm went to $500,000 for Thundering Sky (Hip #144), a Racing/Broodmare prospect by Sky Mesa. The 5-year-old is a multiple Stakes winner and 7-time Graded-placed, most recently in the September 22 Noble Damsel S. (G3) at Belmont Park.

A couple hours later, Ran Jan Racing came out on top of a spirited bidding session for Racing/Broodmare prospect Spanish Harlem (Hip #249). The winning bid was $480,000 for the Stakes-winning daughter of the top international sire More Than Ready.

South Point also sold a quintet of weanlings for an average price of $70,200. The topper among the five was Hip #67, a filly by Lemon Drop Kid, purchased for $125,000 by De Meric Sales, agent. The filly is a full sister to Saratoga Graded Stakes winner Inspector Lynley.

South Point will offer over 90 more hips at the Keeneland November sale beginning on Wednesday, November 7.
