F-T October Grad Crispy Creed Scores at Fair Grounds

Crispy Creed surged late to score in a 6-furlong Maiden Special at Fair Grounds, capping off a 3-winner weekend for South Point Sales graduates.

A son of Grade 1 winner Jimmy Creed, Crispy Creed broke well from post 4. He attended the early pace while 3-wide through snappy fractions of :21.83, :45.91 and :58.90. He tipped 4-wide at the top of the lane and wore down the early leader and post-time favorite Aloha Betty.

Crispy Creed was purchased for $50,000 from South Point Sales at the 2017 Fasig-Tipton October Yearling auction by pinhookers Pro Selection Stable & Summer Mayberry. He turned a profit for that operation, bringing $85,000 at the OBS April Two-Year-Old in Training the following spring.

Crispy Creed was bred in Louisiana by Gulf Haven Farms, LLC and now races for Drop 23, LLC.

Also on the weekend, Rock the Causeway won his racing debut at Tampa Bay Downs and Lyrically Violent remained unbeaten in two starts by taking the 4th race on Saturday card at Golden Gate Fields. Both were sold by South Point at the 2017 Keeneland September Yearling auction.

A total of 23 South Point Sales graduates have now found the winner’s circle in 2019 while amassing 26 victories.
