All five yearlings offered by South Point Sales at the 2019 Fasig-Tipton July Yearling sale found new homes and averaged an impressive 3-times the stud fees upon which they were bred.
The consignment headliner was a Hip #342 (pictured below), a filly from the first crop by the promising Pioneerof the Nile son Social Inclusion. The Florida-bred miss brought a final bid of $125,000 from East Hickmam Bloodstock, a pinhooking operation run by longtime thoroughbred player Bill Heligbrodt. Social Inclusion stands at Diamond B Farm in Pennsylvania for a $4,000 fee.
Earlier in the sale another filly, Hip #199, was hammered down for $80,000. Bred on a $15,000 fee, the daughter of Airdrie Stud’s Creative Cause was purchased by Sweetwater Trading Co., agt for Cool Breeze Sales.
WinStar Farm’s Constitution ($25,000 fee) has gotten off to a promising start and his daughter, Hip #51, proved popular. After a spirited bidding war she was sent the way of Adhawk Equine for $75,000.
The Fasig-Tipton July is the latest sale where South Point Sales exceeded the overall clearance rate for an auction. South Point has bettered sale average or clearance rate over two-thirds of the time this decade.
