A colt by Jimmy Creed out of the Speightstown mare Evangelical commanded a final bid of $300,000 at the OBS March Two-Year-Olds in Training sale, representing a successful pinhook for South Point Sales customer Ciaran Dunne.
Dunne, one of North America’s top thoroughbred resellers, purchased the colt out of the South Point consignment at last August’s Fasig-Tipton New York Bred Yearling auction for $195,000. The flashy chestnut turned heads at the breeze show on March 9, zipping a quarter in :9.4, the co-fastest time of the sale (watch here). He was purchased by St. Elias Stable, a partner in 2017 Kentucky Derby hero Always Dreaming.
A colt by Morning Line out of the mare Sierra Vista (GB) also brought six figures at OBS March. He was originally offered by South Point at last year’s Keeneland September sale, eventually changing hands in a private transaction. At OBS March the colt parlayed a sparkling :10 flat breeze (watch here) into a $130,000 final bid from McShane Racing.
